pioneer dvr-108 i/o failure in Hardy

    Hello,

I have a healthy Pioneer DVR-108 DVD burner installed on an IDE channel. It ran fine under gutsy but when I upgraded to hardy, it is recognized as a SCSI drive and will not read any disk, always giving an Input/Output Error. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Thanks!

    Update on this issue:

I tried forcing the kernel to stay at the gutsy version and then doing an upgrade in-place. This left me with a functioning DVD drive.

Question though - does this mean there is a bug in the kernel, or some other problem?

    Thanks again,

    adam
