I have like last month same problem. Computer starting freezing. So then I find out why, that is Gyachi who make that problem. So what happened? When I chatting over Gyachi and turn on web camera, THEN WEB CAMERA, silently RECORDING and last time I find 8000 pictures was record, so because computer freezing. So today I was again at yahoo with my friend and again start freezing my laptop, so I just delete all record pictures and it works again, BUT IT IS NOT SOLUTION. HOW I CAN STOP AUTOMATICALLY RECORDING PICTURES. Anybody?

Hello

I have the following issues with Gyachi Enhanced:

1) When I login, I can see all my buddies, also if they are online - nevertheless, in the status bar on the bottom, Gyachi showes, "Currently not connected to chat"...

2) When I click "Send webcam invitation" to one of my buddies (he is using windows Yahoo-Messenger), he gets the request, accepts, but then nothing happens, no video is opening... How can I get the video/voice chat to work?

I can open my webcam though and see the video just fine...

hello everyone.

I am new to using ubuntu at home and still use vista at office. I have functional knowledge of working my way around things in both operating system as an average user and i'm in no way an expert.

Now here's my problem. I use LAN both at home and office and at both places it is provided by my organisation. Over the past few days it appears, that ports for yahoo messenger have been blocked. So now i cannot use yahoo messenger at office or from home too. Yahoo mail and other browser based services work fine. So i can log into yahoo web messenger or through meebo.com but i cannot use webcam or voice or pic sharing.

So i installed gyachE Improved v1.2.10 for my home pc running ubuntu 10.10. Installation is fine and gyachi fires up without any problem. But it disconnects almost immediately and heres what i get on the gyachi window:
"[Saturday 19 March 2011 12:31:59] CONNECTED: type /help for help

[Saturday 19 March 2011 12:32:15] ** Could not login: Connection timed out. [ Could not login: Connection timed out. ] **
[Saturday 19 March 2011 12:32:15] Disconnected from Yahoo! See Ya! Online for 0 : 00 : 19"

What do i do in this case? I have tried using different ports like 8001, 8002, 23, 80 etc but the result is same everytime. Is there no way gyachi can connect?

I have tried and i did not find any solution to this issue anywhere though similar log is repeated in some other threads. Incidentally i have wine installed on my pc and it is working fine.

Any suggestion and help is welcome.

I've been using Gyache successfully and it's been working great.
All of a sudden last night it started having two problems.

1) the program requires me to sign in every time, and it won't keep my settings;
2) the webcam stopped working and won't go back on.
Update: the webcam works today but gyache still is not saving the settings.

All of these things had been working quite well previous to last night.

Update2: Gyachi started working again the next day.

Sorry guys, i know this thread is old. But i dont like to start a new one.

I'm using 11.04 and gyachi 1.2.10, when i've login first time, everything is fine, but when log back it's said that i've been disconnected because of Broken Pie.
It's still running in background, i know, there are notifiy about my buddies on/offline when i closed it. But i cant get it comes in front. Run it again? Disconnected and it's like a loop.

Anyone can fix this? I'd like to keep it 'alive' when i closed it.

Or please, suggest me another alternative for Yahoo! protocol with webcam supported application.
