    Heat problem in 8.04?

    When I start my laptop with this new Ubuntu 8.04 installed, the fans are first silent, but after like 4-5 min they go on for full 100% and the noise is really bad. They never go off after that.
    I haven't got this problem in any other linux dist, but I think I had it last in Ubuntu 6.10.

    In Windows XP this is also regulated so the fans are silent. Anyone else has this? Is it cause of heat?

    I don't have Compiz on or any other desktop effects
