Yes! I took a look at your specs at

    http://www.everymac.com/systems/appl...wermac-g4.html

and it seems you have an nvidia card. Second success story I've heard today without too much to do if you have nvidia. Seems the ati cards need just a bit more tlc to get running.

Are you running an lcd monitor?

Whoa! You mean no additional kernel parameters at boot? That's great news.

Nope, just use the alternate CD and type "install", that's all.

That's great news. Along with the nvidia card, if you are using an lcd monitor, you may want to see if dithering gives you a better image, especially if you look at small fonts or graphics details.

Depending on your eyesight and monitor quality, this may not do anything for you, but it sure does on my 20" iMac screen - while it is large, it is not Cinema Display quality.

I just added the FPDither option in my xorg.conf:

    Code:
    Section "Device"
            Identifier "Configured Video Device"
            BusID "PCI:240:16:0"
            Option "FPDither" "true"
    EndSection
If your monitor is very high quality, or it just doesn't seem to make a difference, no need for it, but it makes a big difference on mine, whether it is ppc or not. Any box running the standard nv driver with lcd seems to look better to me with this.
