    Question Forntend Video and Music Problem

    I am attempting to use a frontend only for the first time and have not been able to view video's or play music that is stored on my backend only server.

    Is it true to get frontends to work correctly on video and music they need to use a nfs or samba mount to fstab?

    If so, is there good documentation on this somewhere that I have missed?

    I think I have figured it out. At least this worked for me.

    Opened fstab on my myhtfrontend and mounted music and videos via samba.

    Here is my fstab:

    Here is the .smbpasswd file:

    I placed this in root with read/write to root read only to root group and no access to others

    Note: on the backend pc I opened up the samba shares to write access and changed to user authentication. I actually made the changes on the backend with Webmin rather than modifying the samba config by hand.
