    fluxbox and nm-applet

I am trying to set up a light system. I have successfully installed the ubuntu server, with fluxbox running on top. I have even configured my #$%^*#$ Broadcom wireless card. What I haven't been able to do, is set up nm-applet.
It keeps telling me that certain resources can not be accessed and that nm-applet cannot be run. Also, is there a way to see battery power without using gnome-power-manager? I would like to use something lighter.

    Thanks.

Try Wicd instead of network manager: http://wicd.sourceforge.net/

Also, I'd love to see a lightweight power manager to put on my Fluxbuntu laptop with 64 MB of RAM, but I haven't found one yet.
