Just installed Xubuntu Hardy Heron, and everything seems OK soundwise except for Mic Input jack - it shows up in alsamixer, but no sound is captured in jack or skype when selecting this input. The built-in mic works fine as do all the outputs ...

can anyone with the same laptop or soundchip see if their mic input is working, or possible suggest some solutions?
