VIA Chrome9 Beta Driver Released! WOOT!
Holy Cow Batman! Could it be?
VIA is releasing compiz capable drivers?
Check it out here http://linux.via.com.tw/support/downloadFiles.action
INCREDIBLE!!!
I'm totally blown away, VIA finally after 10 years of saying they are OSS friendly has stepped to the plate, we even get our own via linux portal and everything!
NICE!!! WOOHOO!!!

Re: VIA Chrome9 Beta Driver Released! WOOT!
I did install the drivers on Kubuntu Hardy (KDE 3.5) and the installation worked fine. I rebooted and I was able to see that I have 3D acceleration enabled when I ran "glxinfo | grep render". However...none of my 3D games seem to have acceleration enabled and Google Earth doesn't show anything, probably because of the same thing.
So can anyone tell me if the driver actually enables 3D capabilities, and if so, what do I have to do?
