    Installing open-vm-tools

    Hi all,

I am using VMware with Ubuntu 8.04 as a guest.

Since yesterday I am trying to install those open-vm-tools. The problem is that I never compiled any software in Linux and starting with the ./configure procedure makes problems because of missing packets to be installed before running ./configure.

Is there any howto (I couldn't find one for Hardy) I can rely on?

    Many thanks

Did you try installing the open-vm-tools_2008.01.23-74039-0ubuntu1_i386.deb from launchpad?
