Clicking Hard Disk

Hi,

I've got a new Toshiba laptop which came with vista. Today i Installed ubuntu 8.04 deleting vista. Everything seems to work ok except for the fact that i hear a constant "clicking" of the harddrive especially when it's idle. The clicking stops for some time and after a few second it appears again. I'm afraid if any damage is caused to the hard drive!

Any idea?
