this is where my story begins. i was on Google one day when i get this message coming up saying, 'your search look like it was done by a virus'. all i said was, 'yeah right, virus, Linux, no chance'. i thought that this must be a one off problem with Google, anyway i did a lot more searches and they all did the same thing. i even restarted my computer to try and get rid of this problem but that did absolutely bull...... by this time i was getting very peeved so i decided to get a virus detector.
i was searching this forum for a answer to my problem and the one virus detector that was being mention quite often is the clam anti virus program. i thought i might as well install it so i did so but there was a problem with my install. i cant remember what it was as it was as this was quite some time ago. anyway i searched the web for more anti virus programs and found avg Linux.
i know windows (touch wood) has avg and it works quite well on that so i decided that i will get it. it (unlike clam) installed perfectly but when i did the virus check it cam up with the error that i could not access all the files and the files it did access it found no virus in. how do i allow avg to have administrator rights as my guess is that the virus is hidding some where in the folders it cannot access.
i will also point out that i did use this panda virus checker about nine months ago and that was rubbish as well. so i would suggest not suggesting it to me.
Anyway please may you help me with my problem as it is very annoying not being able to search for anything.
