    Question Secure install scripts

I am trying to put together a set if pre-compiled binaries that be distributed via RPM but protects the included files. I am currently using an invisible .tar strategy, but I would like to be a bit more sure that the user is using my installation script. Any ideas?

Well, that is the purpose of RPM and DEB packages. So you are on the right track, but worrying too much about it. Just use RPM or DEB the way it is supposed to be used and be done with it.

    Cheers,
