I think this has something to do with the fact that facebook does not allow spamming, so you can't just invita everyone in one go. even then I wouldn't like to invite everyone in one go, I'd be labelled a stalker!!!

This looks really promising, wonder how they did it, wish it would come to linux, I'm happy with pidgin, but they seem to be working very hard!

I have been using Digsby for Windows for several months now. They have indeed added Facebook chat/friend online status to their app some two weeks ago, and it works like a charm.

So there's got to be a way to do this, as I don't believe they are affiliated with Facebook. (Facebook APIs?)

It's not what we're looking for. This is straight from the site:

Sorry to reopen an old thread, but I've been working on Facebook chat for Pidgin for the last week or so, and have got buddy lists downloading and messages sending http://code.google.com/p/pidgin-facebookchat/
