    bad install for /home partition

I just installed the RC of Ubuntu on top of an old partition. The root folder is fine, but I've been using the same /home partition for a while (during the past 4 installs I've done, I've never run into the following problem). During the install it asked me a question I wasn't positive about and had never had to do before. It asked if it was an ext2 or ext3. I guess I answered wrong because it formatted my /home partition. Any way to undo this or am I gonna be starting from scratch?

TestDisk might be able to recover it.
