    slow boot due to video card?

    I read that ati cards hang up your boot time... it's VERY slow... i dont have any clue where i read that, so i figured id post here and see if you guys could help me

    With my ATI Radeon X1300 and Ubuntu 7.10, at startup and shutdown my screen goes black and the led keeps blinking for a few seconds, but with Ubuntu 8.04 beta I don't see this problem anymore.

    mine just hangs on startup really bad. like 7 minutes load time bad.
