Terminal: Can the terminal remotely edit html files?

I finally know how to upload files using the "ftp" command in the terminal (yay!). Now is it possible for the terminal to edit an html file remotely using ftp instead of downloading it using "get" then uploading it again using "put"? I mean if it's just a small change like a typo or something, can I just use nano or emacs or something else?
It's not that hard to train a pengiun to do stunts. Just say, sudo roll-over or sudo play-dead.

Re: Terminal: Can the terminal remotely edit html files?

Every terminal based editing program, such as vim or nano, can edit html files. Dunno how to login to a normal ftp server, but it should be similar to ssh or telnet (maybe you can even telnet to the ftp port).
