The admins decided there is a large group of programmers/advanced computer users that make frequenct use of coffee, so they thought it would be fun. They admit, its not true for everyone, but its pretty common. Its in one of the stickies.

I will be drinking more coffee when I get my own machine, instead of paying $4 at Scooters, starbucks, crane coffee, etc.

Yeah, I think this coffee image sucks - unhealthy junkies with long hair, who smoke and drink coffee and beer to get things done.
