Thanks! I'd been trying to get AWN running for a while, and when I went Hardy I decided to give it another shot!

Thanks! I got it running this time around.

    Hey there,

got AWN up and running i amd it looks great, with one minor bug. There's a white line to the right of it I just can't get rid of since upgrading to HH this morning. Any idea how I could make it go away?
    Cheers,

That means that an applet is failing to start. Run avant-window-navigator in a terminal to (hopefully) find out which one and why.

As for my problem, it isn't going away. If I have a taskbar as well, it has an entry saying "starting gnome terminal" or whatever while the icon is bouncing, but both go away without starting the program. This is sporadic, though it seems that launching from the menu and then closing increases the chances of the launcher working for awhile.

Did anyone else get a weird upgrade here? I suddenly have a whole slew of new packages and for some reason the "update" uninstalled the AWN-manager-bzr, but now there's "agnostic" packages?

I've changed some things in the way the packages work, hopefully it'll fix the launcher issues people have been having. You were unlucky to get the bad awn-manager update, that's fixed now, after the next time you upgrade awn awn-manager will be installable again.

The -agnostic packages are currently broken, I'll post more about them once they're working. Just ignore them for now.

Re: HOWTO: functional eye-candy with Avant-Window-Navigator

I just got an update that have removed awn-manager and python-libawn-bzr.
And now, I can't run the manager (no such file) and have some applet issues.
The stack crashes at start with this error :
    Code:
    Traceback (most recent call last):
      File "/usr/lib/awn/applets/stacks/stacks_applet.py", line 27, in <module>
        import awn
    ImportError: No module named awn
and plugger and trasher applet (with curved gui) show only a white line.

edit: I guess that the missing python-libawn-bzr is the cause of all this problems, apt-get report a dep issue :
    Code:

Update manager shows updates for avant-window-navigator-bzr, awn-manager-bzr, and libawn-bzr but says that they are not installable.

ayoli, carpking: try completely removing all awn packages and reinstalling. I changed the names of a couple of packages and that might be messing with the dependency handling.
