Nvidea GeForce 4 FAN BROKE !!! Help!

Hey! Just wondering if anyone can help me- my desktop's Nvida Gf4 has a broken fan, and this obviously has massive reliablility implications. I have never done anything with hardware, other than plugging things in and out. Can I get a better fan for it? Heatsync? How do I replace it? Thanks!

Take it to a computer store, they might be able to replace the fan, or perhaps you could buy a new card

You can just buy a new heatsink fan from a place like newegg...

thermal compunds are usually included when you buy them, try to look for vantec vga coolers or cooler master's coolviva, it fits on almost all video cards. but its quite complicated to fit coolviva so might want the store to do it for you

Only your fan broke? How is it hooked up to power? You can buy a fan that screws into the place a pci card would go right next to your video card and it may work aslong as your heatsink is still on the card, what kind of gf4, my card is similar but never had a fan to begin with but I have the antec slot fan in the link below

It shouldnt cost more than 10 to 15 after shipping and tax if applicable. I have never used a vga cooler but sounds like overkill for a gf4, correct me if I am wrong though

Thanks! I think I will replaxe it with another fan, and add the PCI slot exhaust because noise is not a factor

Will tell the geforce type when I have acces to it.

Bah, I wouldnt worry about it.
Mine broke months ago, I just disconnected it an removed it.
There are suppliers out there for fans for them but they want about the same as the card is worth.
I havent had a problem but havent been running any games either so <shrug>
