Yeh, the installer works with any debian based system. Gfire 0.7.0 can be downloaded as a deb, rpm or source.

It has been tested fully with Ubuntu 7.10 & 8.04

I compiled it but it would be nice to have a 64bit deb because i had to install 40megs worth of stuff (pidgin-dev and its dependency's) to build it

Fain, we will see if it would be possible to support 64bit, but with such a small dev team its hard to. We are still having trouble getting an exe file created.

I am by far from complaining sorry if it came out that way. i seriously thank you guys for keeping this plugin alive. I use it every day. i can deal with 40mb of almost wasted space, i would like to make a deb for it my self but first i need to learn how

There is an x64 deb package floating around the internet. I had it yesterday but then I removed a symlink to bash and totally wiped my system :/
