    SliTaz- An Amazing Distro!

There's a really cool distro I found last year called SliTaz Linux. The latest release has Firefox, JWM, destop effects, a music player, file manager, mtpaint, and more for just 25 MB. It loads entirely into RAM and can run from a USB drive.

+1. I've used that more than once to hijack the machine at work and avoid the five-minute boot times with XP (and crudware). It's fantastic stuff. I really like that one.

Tried it after this week's distrowatch article and it was pretty fast I have to say!

I was impressed. The only reservation is that the # of available programs is pretty small and its not compatible with major distros. So its destiny is to be more like a swiss army knife for quick simple tasks, than a 'real distro'. But if it does it well, can't complain...

It's great for me because often all I need is Firefox and an xterm, but I probably won't make it my primary distro yet. There a few additional apps that can be installed with the package manager though. This distro has gone a long way from when I first tried it, so I hope they will continue to develop and improve it.

WOW... this looks interesting. I just got some old PIII laptops that may love this little OS. I wonder how it does with wireless cards and printers.

Hmm... I'm debating whether to put Puppy on them or SliTaz...
Guess I'll try both of them and see which works the best.
