this is only going to work if you use the current version of itunes, but you switch the compatibilty in wine cfg to windows 2000 instead of xp. its a huge pain in the *** and it won't even work with your ipod. there are other alternatives to itunes on linux where you can even back up your music or add new songs to your ipod.
EDIT: I have been using Amarok as an itunes alternative and it syncs with your ipod perfectly. you can even add/remove or manage your songs. I believe you can download at amarok.kde.org. im pretty sure you can also find it in synaptic package manager.

It installs and runs but you can't access any menus or click on the elements inside iTunes.
didnt have the same experiance, seemed abit laggy imo, so im just sticking to totem or what eva its called, im on my windows PC atm cos of geography coursework
Until it can sync with an iPod, I see no use. Especially because there are already native Linux apps that handle all things music and iPod.
