He means a company called Arctic cooling the intel LGA775 which you need is here http://www.arctic-cooling.com/cpu2.php?idx=92&disc=

I have never seen this one before it says the sound level is 0.6 sone which is between 25 and 27 DbA which is about the same as the one i Pointed out to your before.

there one on ebay here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...f63706fffae943
or there's one on that novatech site too here http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s...tml?AC-APLINE7

It's cheap but arctic cooling are meant to be good
it doesn't say but it's probably got a copper core which the standard intel one has.

the first one looks ok the second one doesn't have much of a heat sink though which is why it weighs less

Hello once again,I also ordered this fan(the one I mentioned before I put it in my old pc used by my father now) :THERMALTAKE CL-P0372 TMG I2
I installed it today and it's super silent.I changed a bit the position of the wires and the 2 hard disks and now everything is as silent as the hill
Now both of the pcs in my house are quiet and none of my parents are complaining anymore(yeah..finally!)

Re: [SOLVED] A silent CPU Fan?

cool, glad it worked for you my one is pretty quiet as well.

Had I known the stock fan would have been that noisy in the first place I would have used a third party one, but it was just a case of it's in there now, it can stay in there.
