"VirtualBox kernel driver not installed" error after Hardy upgrade

Try this:

In a terminal, do

sudo apt-get install --reinstall virtualbox-ose-dkms

For me, this reinstalled virtaulbox-ose-dkms (as one would expect) and also rebuilt the dkms package with kernel support. It fixed the problem for me.
