Battle of Wesnoth is more RTS than you're looking for but it's the best option. There's also Heroes of Might and Magic 3 from the old Loki games, but you'll have to find that somewhere.

You can play Playstation versions of games on Linux with Playstation emulators, Mehashi - pSX Emulator is definitely the best of these, both from performance and ease of use aspects.

No, it isn't. But it runs very well in Wine.
