    shouldnt redhat be olbied to post any update they make to the gpl'ed code of the OS (all of it)?

    how is this compatible to needing a validation or anything to get the update?

    The GPL does not require you to distribute binaries, only source code. And that, Red Hat does:
    ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/.snapshot/n...e/4/en/os/i386

    The source is in the "SRPMS" directory. I didn't link directly since it's a very large directory.
