I would like to know how active the ZA Team really is. If there is any new up and coming events etc.

the best thing to do is for you to subscribe to the mailinglist. much, if not most of the communication is done through the mailinglist, however irc meetings do occasionally happen.

for more details on how to subscribe to the mailinglist, you can get the information from http://www.ubuntu-za.org/.

and if you find that the activity in your city is too low, feel free to try get things going. how much you do or dont do is really up to you.

and on a final note, i would just like to say welcome to the community. hope you have a good experience.
