On the wine app database it doesn't look to inspiring.

off-topc: Wine with Acid, in another sense doesn't sound like too good of an idea.

The fundamental problem is that Acid Pro v6 (which is a monster app) requires .net framework v2. Or rather to install v6 off the install DVD first requres .net framework v1.1. Then if you want to upgrade to the latest incremental revision the .net framework will need to be upgraded.

So until someone solves the issues with successfully installing the .net framework issues (which bombed spectacularly when I tried it on Wine rc1 a few days ago), Acid Pro and other apps welded to .net framework will not run, and may not even install. Which is a shame since Acid (far and away my preferred multi-track for DAW) is one of the handful of apps that have kept a Windows machine alive in my house for the last few years.

Thanks for reminding me of Ubuntu Studio. That's a very cool project.

While it's not Acid, I will mention that Reaper works just fine under Linux + Wine, the developers even program it with Wine in mind (see the requirements page )
I'm sticking with Reaper ( http://www.reaper.fm ) until the Linux Audio production apps mature enough, in my opinion they have a lot of work to do, but they are getting there pretty fast. I don't think it will be all that long before I end up switching from Reaper.

As one of the other responders said, Acid Pro uses .NET 2.0.

    HOWEVER

The first distro of ACID was a freebie, and was compatible with Win98 (I first got it bundled with a sound card in '99!) It was quite lightweight by today's standards but had a lot of the features Acid Pro has now. AND, it certainly is older than .NET so that won't be a problem.

I think I'll try it... I'll let you know if it works.
