Which Nic is better? rtl8139 or the SOHOware?

Which one supports gigabyte lan? that would be the one I would go with.

Nah, both are old 10/100 cards.

I have a RTL-8139 card. In fact, I have several Realtek cards and I haven't had any problems with them on Linux or on Windows 2000 and XP. The cards work on Windows 98 but they can be a pain in the ass to setup because the Windows 98 hardware detection/installation process is so incredibily flaky.
