Evolution + fetchyahoo = Banned From Yahoo Mail?

I've been wanting to check my Yahoo mail from Evolution. So I did an apt-get of fetchyahoo, a program that purported to deliver mail from your Yahoo account to your local procmail account. Then I committed what seems to be a grevious error: I ran the program.

I can no longer access mail.yahoo.com; anytime I try I get the following error:
Code:
Unable to process request at this time -- error 999

Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later.
The error is coming from Yahoo, not my system. Clearing my cookies let's me access it just fine, but when I try to log in, I get slapped with the error again.

To top it off, Evolution no longer works (?!!!). Launching it makes my harddrive chug a bit, and then nothing happens.

So did I simultaneously break Evolution and get banned from Yahoo? Does anybody have any ideas as to what happened here?

Yahoo will let you in after a while. Kill fetchyahoo if it's still running in the background. It took me about 16 hours to get into yahoo after my fetchyahoo debacle.

Yeah, I can log in now. It's been about twelve hours. I guess they do a tempory ban if you try circumvent their "Pay for POP Access" deal. I don't think I'll be using fetchyahoo anymore. On a related note, maybe it's time to switch to my Gmail account as my primary account, or at least foward all my Yahoo mail over to it...

Oh, and Evolution's back up and running after a reboot. Weird.

I have Gaim on my desktop open at all times
and it's giving me a message every time i
receive a new mail.
For me it works with MSM maybe it could do the
same for Yahoo ?

You can access Yahoo pop mail natively in Evolution. just follow the instructions on the yahoo mail page (pop3 your user name and password and the server they give you). The only thing pay for pop does is filter spam and viruses for you.

Do you have fetchyahoo running all the time? Doesn't it log you into Yahoo to retrieve your mail? If so, I can see why you couldn't log in directly.

I ran fetchyahoo last night and this morning and have had no problems. Funny thing is, the first time I ran it I had a bunch of messages from my router in my mbox??? I just deleted them all.
