Installing Ubuntu: Some guides and howtos

Enable DVD Playback in 2 commands

Automatix (installs programs such as google earth, skype, and more so you don't have to do it)

Despite being command-line (Terminal) based, I wrote my Comprehensive Multimedia & Video How-to with newbies in mind. Just copy and paste the relevant commands and you should be fine.

I have a setup guide for installing 7.10 with a separate /home partition (Always a good idea, I would have lost it when I upgraded to 8.04 otherwise.). Check the link in my sig. I will also be updating it soon with instructions for 8.04.
