    I can't help but think that gaming is a big issue with Ubuntu. Because of this I think that UGA needs to be overhauled.

    Here are a couple things that come to mind

    * Break down the different game types and give them a top ten. how about;
    Best New Game (new from the last 6 months)
    Best FPS
    Best RTS
    Best Retro
    Best Casual (cards, wordgames, ext)

    * How about listing some online games with reviews. Some online personalities doing the reviews would be nice with this.
    I would love to see some tournaments listed on the gaming site. Warsow is HOT!

    * How about talking to some other Linux gamer sites and trying to setup a combined deal.
    Why do it alone? maybe sites like - http://www.happypenguin.org/ or http://www.linux-gamers.net/ would like to strike up a deal?

    * Create easy ways for users to install games. Yes, there is apt-get but for commercial software installing is still crappy. How about database of scripts that help install commercial games? Something like Loki installers http://www.liflg.org I can't remember how many times I have read. " I just bought XXX and It has Linux binaries but I don't know how to install it. This should be what automatrix is.

    I hope my beer burning banter helps spark some ideas for the site

    Speaking as the Project Founder Ill try to touch on all your points.

    Firstly, we are in a redesign of the game list page. AI is working quite feverishly on this, and our model currently is seperation of free vs commercial. Hard to setup a top 10 list, I guess I can query the access.log to determine how many of the games list pages get hit and order them in that fashion or something.

    If you want to submit a game review send it over to one of us, we will get it put up for you. See here -- http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=394135

    I admire the HappyPenguin guy, have talked to Bob on a few rare occasions. He has his motivations, and we have ours. There is a mutual respect there I think. As far as Linux-gamers goes, I was pretty much down talked for my duplication of effort when I attempted to speak with them about colab, so im likely not going to offer any kindness (nor do I intend to be any further unkind as well) in that direction.

    Install guides here, well our howto page is quite extensive and relatively easy to read and understand. If you dont see a game install there and you want one, specially if its native one, let us know and we will get you running. Automatix in our humble opinion isnt a solution to the installation problem, proper education is. As such we do not endorse it, nor strive to be like it.

    Some changes were made, and all was well in the Land of Yor, and there was much rejoicing. (Hopefully).
