I've been using Linux 100% since 2009
I don't remember if I posted here or not but I have switched both myself and my wife to Linux on our home computers. She runs Mint Cinnamon Edition and I run Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Beta 2.
I've switched totally to Ubuntu since probably 08, 10.04 is my favourite version. I have now 13.04 and it sucks!!! Not the mainly the UI (though I hate Unity) but sometimes while doing arbitrary stuff, it just freezes and the screen gets jumbled/garbled and I have to do a hard restart. Searched all over for a solution and I am yet to find one. Switched to 12.04LTS and it happened once (not as frequently as 13.04) and has not since. It happened while I was fooling around gstreamer on the live USB in 12.04 but with 13.04 it happens just out of the blue. Can't seem to really recreate the issue - it just happens arbitrarily with no apparent triggers (from me). I will post more details in the relevant section of the forum (if I can find it)
No, please don't post your findings for 13.04. It's out of support and shouldn't be used anyway.
On the other hand, if you try 14.04 and find it unstable please post.

Don't use this space for a list of your hardware. It only creates false hits in the search engines.
I'm totally in since Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Remix. Never back to Windows, not in my personal laptop. BTW, I'm loving Unity, maybe UNR had something to do with this?
Hi everyone, I switched over completely to linux, and totally dropped Windows about 4 years ago.
I found dual booting annoying, and windows ate up a lot of space on my harddrive. Plus the windows installer wiped out grub everytime I had to reinstall it.
I love my Linux
I did a long long time ago on a planet far far away !
might take the plunge. So far ive figured out how to do everything on my checklist on ubuntu. Just need to get rid of my windows laptop.
I have used Ubuntu since ver 10.04 and am completely satisfied and 'at home' with it.
I recently decided to dual-boot so that I could use Win 7 to run Sketchup because I couldn't get SU running satisfactorily with Wine.
OK, so I could use Sketchup but found that my dislike of everything Microsoft was just too high a price to pay!
After experiencing all the hassle that Windows brings with it I ditched it and upgaded to Trusty Tahr. Now I must try again to get Sketchup (any version will do) to run with Wine, Wine Tricks or anything else but dreaded Windows.
Any bright ideas most welcome.
