I have a network of 3 computers running Ubuntu, unforttunaately I have to keep Windows in a VirtualBox to run some of my study programs. Can you believe the practice tests for Linux+ run under Windows?!!!! Anyhow I came onboard with 7.04.

I HATE windows! IT SUCKS! WHILE Linux DOES NOT. I run a web-server, IRC, virtual-hosting, all on 200 megs of ram and 700 mhertz intel celeron proc. When i had windows 2000 and me on it i could hardly get ms-hearts up let alone boot within an hour.
And with Ubuntu 8.10 on it it boots in less than 1 minute, plus can run a webserver, an irc, and apache2 virtual-hosting.
Ps and it can open 100 programs to windows hardly 1.
    windows SUCKS!!
    microsoft SUCKS!!
I never once will never give windows thumbs up!

I have switched completely over to Ubuntu . . . . . FROM MY MAC!

I have a MacBook that I am running Ubuntu on! I use VirtualBox to run InterBankFX, (a forex trading platform), and that's it. Ubuntu is by far the best operating system I have used, (ok, linux distribution).

    Yay, an ex-Mac!!

I've converted 2 Mac users to Ubuntu so far...and they've stuck with it, and it works great for them too!

    Spread the word!

It dawned on me today that I don't need to spend $1,200 on a laptop again, . . . . . I can just spend $600 for a great laptop, format it immediately, and install Ubuntu! I almost want to give my Mac away to get a 15"!

I have switched completely from XP3 to Ubuntu.

Allthough having major unsolved problems after upgrading from Hardy to Ibex I will stay on Linux OS !

I have waisted hours with Windows doing just simple system maintenance.
With Ubuntu I can concentrate on working with my laptop ..-not on it !

Now running Ubuntu 6 month with between 40-60 hours/week on internet without even firewall or virus blocker.
My laptop still scans and run without problems detected.
With XP this would be unthinkable not to mention the constantly need of system scan/cleaning/defrag (-using CCleaner and such tools)
I dont need games for entertaining so this evt negative side effect of Linux is not my problem.

I am happy to work with and develop my linux skills knowing my time is invested in a quality OS instead of being a part of Microsoft and their rather antique and money focused development politicy.

Re: How many of you completely switched to Linux?

The only time I boot into Windows is when I need to print class files from Eclipse.

I know it's funny, but I have yet to find a way to print from WITHIN ECLIPSE on Ubuntu.

Re: How many of you completely switched to Linux?

I have switched to Ubuntu since Edgy and completely kicked out M$ a year ago.

I am very happy with it,i am now enjoying my Pc again.
I am doing everything i was doing with M$ and even more.

Still, ubuntu is not perfect cause nothing is perfect in this world.
Video driver is something that i still have problems for my TVOUT.
This should be worked more again. This will help people retiring M$ from their Pc.

For all the rest i have absolutly no complaints.

    Ubuntu rocks.

Long live to Mark and the devs and this wonderfull community, thanks to all of you who are contributing to this.

    Best regards.
