A simple(?) question about VMWare and a custom OS

    Hi,

I've recently completed developing a small OS, that runs off a floppy disk, running very much so like DOS. However, i am always making modifications to suit my needs.

Thus, i am forced to constantly reboot, and if possibly i'd like to use VMWare to boot up my OS.

Does anyone here know how to calibrate VMWare to boot a custom-built OS? Or is there any tutorials out there?

    Thanks,
    Kristian.

If you are able to boot from a floppy, you should be able to tell vmware to boot from there too.

Both VMWare and VirtualBox should be able to do what you want. There are other products which probably are just as good, but I have not used any of them.

Both VMWare and VirtualBox are accessible on the web and carry all kinds of documentation on their Web sites. How to boot a virtual machine from a floppy or from an image of a floppy ought bto be fairly well documented there.

Sorry, then. That's the kind of jargon I myself would use.
