*** It's time for the Ubuntu Forums salute to Monty Python ***

What is it about smart geeks and Monty Python? Certainly the comedy troupe was funny. They had their moments of brilliance and their moments of slapstick silliness. Somehow, though, it seems there is something deeper, that there is a connection on a more intimate level than that.

How many of you can find an appropriate Monty Python quote for any situation? How many can quote entire movies (Holy Grail, anyone?)? We even have people in the Free/Open Source Software community (Guido van Rossum) creating entire programming languages named after these guys (Python...ever read the documentation? It's all spam and eggs.).

Well, on that note, we decided it would be fun to give a shout out to Monty Python. All you have to do to join in is choose an appropriate avatar, and maybe make a link or note in your sig.

If you want to be a lumberjack, that's okay. Just remember to please keep your tribute safe for school and work...we don't want anyone getting in trouble, and you don't want a visit from the Spanish Inquisition!

"Did somebody mention the Spanish Inquisition?"

Wow, I didn't expect them to show up.

"Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!"

Re: *** It's time for the Ubuntu Forums salute to Monty Python ***

My mind was confused as to what the proper avatar would be(the curse of having three heads), but I finally landed on the correct picture, a picture of me. The only caveat of this picture is that it is too oblong(another curse of having three heads). But who really cares as long as you can boast about your three heads.
