Should i buy Macbook pro
Hi there,
this might be not about ubuntu I'm a graphics designer working in a tv channel at the moment. I mostly use After Effects, Photoshop and Maya. I'm using Maya with Ubuntu both at work and at home.. I'm planning to buy a macbook pro these days..i think i just need something different for my life I'll use both Ubuntu and Macosx with that...I want to ask something to Macbook pro users.. Is there a heating problem(some says that you can cook eggs on it)..? And again someone said that there is a weird sound coming from inside... and last, is it a good idea to buy macbook pro ? thanx a lot |

Re: Should i buy Macbook pro
If you want a machine that runs linux well, why don't you get something that has decent Linux support? Apple is a closed platform.
Don't buy it to run Ubuntu, get a Mac if you want to run OSX.

Re: Should i buy Macbook pro
I don't really think you have a lot of other options, do you? Sure, you could build one of them hackintosh thingies, if you like, but that's not really the same thing, as so much of the OS X experience is tight hardware integration.
If you have a desire to run OS X and run it well, get a MBP. But as cyberdork said, don't get it as a Linux machine. The closed hardware can be a real pain. I'm still using ndiswrapper, for instance.
