PVR 500, belgium, scrambled video, audio ok

    hi,

i have a mythbuntu backend with a pvr 500 card , and a frontend with mythbuntu.

most of the channels have horizontal lines (scrambled image) some channels don't have it that much, others have it continiously...

audio is ok... hardware is ok too, because before under windows, all worked perfectly...

i have tried a clean ubuntu install before with the mythtv primary backend , and it gives the same issue...

    any ideas ?

i'm on pal and west europe...

    thanks
    Peter

Not sure from your description, but there is a bug with current nvidia drivers that can cause video to appear as coloured noise, or just a pink screen. If you are using an nvidia video card could this be the problem?

it's an ati, and on the other frontend (i have 2) it's indeed an nvidia...

but since it is on the ati as well, i guess that's not it ?

    thanks

before you pull the pin on a much superior system, that is MUCh more than a pvr...

Have you tried other linux media players that will handle DVB playback? I used to use Kaffeine, for example, to watch TV on the same hardware that I eventually made into a mythtv box. Try it, and see if the problem persists.

Also, you could try another "pvr" system under linux - such as Freevo.
