What would be the best tool for this task?

I want to set up a website (i don't have a server, im using GoDaddy) to where i can blog (like blogger/wordpress) and where i can have normal individual pages. I don't wanna use wordpress because i want to use my own layout.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

PS: I'm going to use Dreamweaver.

If your webspace has PHP/CGI/whatever, there are a couple of blog packages you could install, including the one used for WordPress (which *does* allow custom styles).

As far as I know, there are also some which also work "offline". In this case you have to install a web-server locally and they enable you to extract static pages from your blog you can upload to your server.

Normally, the blog packages provide their own editor. That's by the way, one of the main ideas to start a blog: To get rid of having to use a website editor. So I don't know if there are any "compatible" packages. Of course, you can write your own.

It is open source, you can do anything within your abilities. Using a WYSIWYG editor is not the best way to do this. In fact, it isn't the best way to do anything..

I just wanted to take an already created layout from a website and put my banner on it, then use it as a blog.
