    Gimp selection to layer question

    I am currently using Gimp for image creation and manipulation, but have found that I cannot figure out how to promote a selection on one layer to its own layer. Its probably something simple I missed in the layers menu.

    Help is very much appreciated.

    I know there is a tool for this, but I couldn't find it either, so what I usually do is cut the object, and then paste it and push the new layer button on the layer dialog.

    Make a selection
    Edit -> Copy/Cut
    Edit -> Paste
    Layer -> New

    Ah too slow again :]

    Sorry, I should've mentioned that that is how I am doing it currently: darn forgetfullness. :P

    If someone happens to know what said tool is that would be nice.
