    a good 2d animating program...?

    that exports to flash swf?

    so far i have tried:
ktoon (could not get it to compile)
    gplflash (did not compile)
    pencil

    I'm about to try synfigstudio

    any tips, or ideas?

also: for blender; whats the best way to get my animations on the web in swf format? what i've down once is rendered my animation and then put the jpegs from the /tmp directory one by one into pencil and made a frame by frame animation and then exported it to flash....

is there a export thingamabob for flsh made in python for blender?

    thanks for all the help

The problem is that Adobe's SWF is a vendor-specific format. You can run Adobe Flash using Wine (there are some howtos) quite okay I guess.
There are a few libraries for Linux that can write to SWF files but I don't know about a decent GUI. Synfig is very nice (because it is - like Flash - a vector animation application), but it has no export for SWF, too.

You could probably make a GIF animation or other format image animation with GIMP GAP.

Create your animation, export it to a video format (I recommend Ogg Theora), and use Cortado to play your animation.

If you use Cortado and JavaScript together, you will be able to have a "media center" to show your animations, videos, and music.

    I hope this help!

    staticvoid
, Ktoon is now available from Add/Remove applications. I haven't tried to install it yet, but it may be easier than compiling the program.
