Entropy: A new Linux Game Project

There is a problem with your name. There is a program for Enlightenment called Entropy, and people might get confused when you talk about this and that. Just thought I would let you know.

I think we'll be able to make the different pretty clear, we've been using the name Entropy for the past two years during our planning stages.

I cant do much work on the thing itself, except maybe graphics, with my photoshop experience. But other than that, Id be more than happy to alpha/beta test it

Actually, that's one of the key things we're looking for. If you can still be around in a year or so, please do. We want to get as many people into as earlier as possible so that there's some structure when other players start playing (as in military structure)

I'm very interested. Unfortunately I just downloaded my first book on OpenGL yesterday, so I'm not much help there. Count me in for alpha/beta testing (heh), and I'll poke about your site to see how else can I help.

Unlike most games out there, we're looking to be as compatible as possible, so expect the minimum graphics requirement to be fairly low (a laptop with a GMA 945 is a development target). We're looking for incremental quality - support for older hardware, but full utilization of new hardware.
