Mapping X-Box gamepad to keyboard keys?

Hey guys

I've fixed the xpad driver so my X-Box controller works (don't worry, I'll find a way to submit the fix once I polish it up a bit ) and I wanna play some WINE games that don't allow gamepad (Soul Reaver 2, etc) but I haven't been able to .

QJoypad hangs my machine... sometimes. It just either crashes it or it goes crazy about priority and I can't give any input in keyboard/mouse and I have to restart.

Joy2key only supports one axis, and the X-Box gamepad has two (and the game works beautifully with both axes enabled ).

Anybody knows any other alternative? I've tried to use xev + xmodmap but xev can't get the gamepad events, so I'm kinda stuck in here

try rejoystick from this PPA: http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/ppa/getdeb_games

works for my cheap generic pad and should work for you
