great cursor themes!!!!!

i've posted about cursor themes before and i know no one is interested in them lol. here are some good ones, they have GREAT animations - instead of the egg timer the whole cursor spins around in a 3D way not around the centre as you look at it lol, when something is selected the cursor changes shape slightly. i can't explain it, but it's worth trying out.

all you do is download the archive, extract it, then open (or download) gursormaker, click on File>Import CursorXP Theme, browse to the extracted cursor themes, then go File>Export X Cursor Theme and tell it the name to call it.

then when you have your exported theme, you can maybe use gcursor, or compiz to select the cursor theme. i'm not using ubuntu atm, i'm using an old suse so i'm just copying the new cursors manually.

Re: great cursor themes!!!!!

Actually I don't like the one you posted, and I don't like most of the cursor themes I could find on DeviantArt. Most of them have this steel/alien/starcraft look... I just want a cursor: arrow, hand, clock, and so on. The themes I liked were just ports of X cursor themes, like Comix

I was able to find a really nice one, but the download link is broken.

I like the default Ubuntu cursor theme. I don't think cursors should be flashy, and not be in your way.

Re: great cursor themes!!!!!

Yeah, I'm with smartboy on this one. cursors should be clean and straightforward. Flashy is never really good. The default is my favorite, especially how the "wait" cursor is unobtrusive and nice, unlike macs spinny beach ball or windows egg timer

I would think that first and foremost the cursor should stand out and be easily recognized on the screen. You should never have to look for it.

Re: great cursor themes!!!!!

what did you think of the animations? i know you didn't try them lol and i know everyone thinks they don't like them, like i said in my first post

anyway, here are some i uploaded. what do you think of the animations?

Code:

http://rapidshare.com/files/78684434...rs.tar.gz.html

i'm not sure what program ubuntu uses to install cursors, but you can try installing them with gcursor, and/or compiz -ccsm where it says general in the box that says default icon i think.

they go in /usr/share/icons

Re: great cursor themes!!!!!

i found this script that will convert CursorXP theme too!
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/sh...?content=72405
it even converted the one mouse theme i couldn't convert with gursormaker (that i mentioned in the first post). it's the best cursor theme, from here -
