    VirtualBox: Increase window size

    Hi,

I was going to give VirtualBox another try, but I have one question! How can I increase the size of the window, so that when I go for fullscreen I don't have that black border.

I don't want VMware Player, as this may go on my Windows box aswell.

Thank you all for your help.

    Nick.

    Bump

I think you could call it "Screen resolution"

    Bump.

Doesn't anyone know how to re-size the window? So the black border doesn't appear?

    Re: VirtualBox: Increase window size

First, you must install the VirtualBox Guest Additions on your Windows guest (search the forum for a howto, but on the newest version at least it is pretty easy. Go to the menu, unmount the CD, click "Install Guest Additions", follow wizard)

    Reboot Windows.

Right click on the Desktop, go Settings (or similar, the bottom one in the menu), and then Apperance. You should now be able to set the resolution to whatever your native Linux resolution is. Then you won't have a black border. On the other hand, the OS will be too big when running in a window, so you'll have to go full screen (Right Ctrl + F by default).

Or on the newer versions, try seamless (Right Ctrl + L)

    Hope this helps!

I did install the guest hosts and it made no difference?

I have my Windows resolution at 1280x1024 and my Linux at 1024x800?

I can't change my Windows one as it is already on the highest, and so is the Linux one?
