I need a text-mode compatible version of the forums!

Ive messed up my xserver and i am now forced to use cli and also have to use the Lynx browser. Is there a text-mode friendly version of the forums?

lynx is pretty old. I believe the default install includes links2, another text browser that I just tested and can confirm to work with the forums. You might try it.

To run from a terminal, type:

Code:

links2 http://ubuntuforums.org

and you should be all set.

If it isn't installed, just use

Code:

sudo apt-get install links2

I have been able to browse the forums in "links", "lynx", and even "retawq". Links (and links2 -g) is my favorite.

Arachne seems to be a graphical browser without the need for X11. It's still beta though.
