I'm really looking forward to this release. Seems pretty wild that the alpha is already out. Here is some more info for anyone wanting it.

Cool Re: Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Alpha Released

I can't wait for this release. It will be my new LTS on my laptop.

I still run the 6.06 LTS on my server and it is still running great!
If at first you don't succeed - just buy the company and tell them to make the one you want.

Yeah, I agree it is pretty wild the alpha has already been reletased. It's like they've already shifted focus from Gutsy to Hardy. I also beleive that this release will be great.

Re: Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Alpha Released

To anyone who wants to use Ubuntu 8.04 Alpha 1.

Please be prepared to face bugs because you may need a few cans of bug spray to get them all out. Here are my problems:-

    1) The Nvidia drivers do not get properly installed, you have to reinstall it after every reboot(Though I found a new way, have to give that a whirl).

    2) The internet connection does not seem to function in Recovery Mode.

    3) You cannot get a terminal using Ctrl+Alt+Fn keys, the screen just flickers and stays the way it is.

But all in all, it is a rather good and nice OS, I can't wait until the release where, hopefully, a new theme would be introduced which would deviate a little from the original Human theme.
Think carefully before executing commands containing "rm", especially "sudo rm -rf ", if you require more information concerning this matter, read this.
I am an experimenter, give me the most stable OS and I can make it unstable in a few hours.

I remember reading some place that there is going to be an easy upgrade path from Dapper to Hardy, but I can't find the source.
