    hoary backports

    hi there,

i installed hoary on a new system today and i'm a bit lost.

i used the repository list on ubuntuguide.org.

i received numerous errors from backports.mirrormax.net.

i'm trying to update my system and install java.

could someone provide me with a working repository list for hoary, please?

    thanks,
    cym.

    Re: hoary backports

Im pretty sure the ones here (http://www.psychocats.net/linux/sources.php) are current. If not let me know and we will try again, I dont use hoary any more so i cant test for you.

random question: why not update to breezy?

you know, i think i'll do just that.

should i paste the breezy repository list on that URL you provided, update, and then do apt-get dist-upgrade ?

    thank you for your help.

    Re: hoary backports

yup that should work perfect (you may need to do a apt-get update first, this refreshes the sources.list for the computer for more info type man apt-get)

*extra points for searching before you post*

I have only just got Kubuntu 5.04 working the way I want, viz ethernet, wireless, etc and the pine
mailer and postfix. It was all a lot of trouble. I am happy to upgrade to 5.10 but will I have to do all
    these tweaks again?
