Talking Aurora - most polished gtk engine?

Every gtk theme or engine I try seems really buggy or unpolished compared to Aurora, and using Aurora makes my desktops look smooth and professional, more so than even the legendary clearlooks, and in my opinion, KDE4's Oxygen theme. Every theme I've tried so far on gnome-look just pushes me back to Aurora.

A link for those who are unaware of Aurora:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/sh...?content=56438

Some themes prevent me from using them because they use a background for items on the gnome bars, which is annoying if you want a transparent taskbar. Others don't let you change the window colours, meaning that if they're too grey/ <insert colour here>, you can't do much about it. My one and only pet peeve with it is the colour of tooltips, and AFAIK, there's no way to change it.

Anyone else love Aurora?

Re: Aurora - most polished gtk engine?

I use it on my Gnome computer, and I love the black theme. Too bad there aren't that many black themes for KDE...

This looks like a contender to clearlooks. I'll try it. Didn't install right. Oh well

It's more personal preference than anything. I love polished, smooth themes, more so than the Murrina themes.

Looks nice - I'm not a fan of dark themes generally but this one looks nice. One thing I don't like is the harsh blue widgets. This would make for a great black/green combo though...I'm quite tempted to try it.

If it was a real GTK+ engine, you can change the colours manually.

Re: Aurora - most polished gtk engine?

I don't like how uncustomizable Aurora is. I mean, if you are willing to dig into a text file to edit it, you should at least have some things to change. Murrine lets you change so much; Aurora took the opposite approach.

Re: Aurora - most polished gtk engine?

...I've been trying to install it for an hour now. And after that hour I learned why I prefer the Command Line of a GUI.
