I don't see why Star Wars is considered sci-fi. It is fantasy in space. I think sci-fi fringes on the ends of probable and possible science. It explores possibilities and ramifications; as well, extrapolates where science one day may be. For example, something like Star Trek would explore the technical and ethical consequences of an interstellar race with peculiar views of race and religion. While Star Wars lays aside all things technical or cerebral and focuses on adventure, mysticism, and story.

Star Wars is just Lord of the Rings - but in space, to me. Great story, but not sci-fi.

The original Death Watch with Harvey Keitel & Romy Schneider. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081182/ sadly not available in Europe.
The kind of science fiction that asks, what will happen if we change one of the usual rules of life - in this case, the rule that everyone has to die.

    The Jetsons

But seriously, not being a HUGE sci-fi fan, I love the Star Trek series (all of them) and StarGates SG1 and Atlantis.

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (a trilogy in 4 parts) was one (4) of the most hilarious books I've ever read.

I never heard of the 5th. I thought "So Long and Thanks for all the Fish" was the last. And I have the series in one bound edition.... which is where I got the "Trilogy in 4 Parts" quote.

Was the 5th part written much later?

    Maybe I should Google it?
